Description

This role requires an experienced Embedded Software Application Engineer with expertise in developing and leading software projects within specialized technical domains related to automotive systems, such as Vehicle, HMI, Combustion, Engine After Treatment, Electro mobility, Powertrain Control, Control Theory, Mechatronic, and Diagnostics. The engineer will be responsible for the complete software development lifecycle including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, verification, and documentation. The position involves leading system engineering efforts, integrating contributions from multiple teams, ensuring quality and readiness of releases, and developing technical roadmaps especially in the early phases of the development cycle. The role demands networking and influencing across the organization and contributing to business development. Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, process automation, and continuous improvement of development processes is essential. The position typically requires 10 or more years of relevant experience and a recognized level of expertise in embedded software applications.

• Perform functional development including requirement breakdown, software design, documentation, implementation, testing, and verification
• Specialize in a technical domain to develop specific software features
• Lead system engineering activities within a technical team
• Integrate deliveries from multiple sources ensuring consistency and quality
• Secure quality assurance and readiness prior to software release
• Develop technical roadmaps focusing on early development cycle phases
• Network across the organization and influence teams at other sites
• Develop and share acquired technical competence
• Participate in business development and continuous improvement initiatives

• 10+ years of relevant experience in embedded software application engineering
• Experience with software development lifecycle including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, and verification
• Expertise in specialized technical domains such as Vehicle, HMI, Combustion, Engine After Treatment, Electro mobility, Powertrain Control, Control Theory, Mechatronic, or Diagnostics
• Experience leading system engineering efforts and integrating deliveries from multiple teams
• Proven ability to ensure software quality and release readiness
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation of software development process steps

• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies for development processes
• Experience developing technical roadmaps
• Ability to network and influence across organizational boundaries
